NYS Photonics Board makes decision to locate HQ in the R&D facility at Eastman Business Park

After a long debate, The New York State Photonics Board of Officers announced on Friday March 3rd,  that the headquarters for the high tech project will be located at the Eastman Business Park on Lake Avenue. Board Chairman, John Maggiore, says they’ve decided it just makes sense to keep the headquarters where the initial facility is being established.

The total budget for the initiative is more than $600 million. The federal government is committed to spending $110 million toward that budget, with the rest coming from the state, the private sector and other parties.

Officials also announced that General Electric and Mentor Graphics will be partners in AIM Photonics.
