NY-BEST hosts Battery & Energy Storage Manufacturing Conference & Expo

U.S. Department of Energy, Advanced Manufacturing Director, Dr. Mark Johnson to Deliver Keynote Address

Rochester, N.Y. - The New York Battery and Energy Storage Technology Consortium (NY-BEST) is hosting a battery and energy storage conference and expo in Rochester, New York on Wednesday, September 10th from 8:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. The conference will feature Dr. Mark Johnson, Director of Advanced Manufacturing for the U.S. Department of Energy, who will deliver a keynote address.

“NY-BEST is proud to present this conference and expo to bring together experts in advanced battery and energy storage technologies with business and government leaders to highlight market opportunities for suppliers, manufacturers and entrepreneurs interested in participating in this growing industry." said Dr. William Acker, Executive Director of NY-BEST. “We expect that thousands of jobs will be created in the battery and energy storage industry in the next decade. The Conference is being held at the Kodak Center for Performing Arts (formerly Theater on the Ridge) in Rochester. The one-day conference and expo will be followed by a tour of the BEST Test and Commercialization Center, located at Eastman Business Park, at 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 11th, 2014.

Experts involved the field of energy storage and economic development will participate in panel discussions around the event's theme - “Energy Storage Supply Chain and Manufacturing." Attendees will hear about energy storage technologies, applications and markets and will gain an understanding of the broad economic potential for this sector, the scope of the supply chain opportunities and insights on how to capitalize on those opportunities.
