In August of 2009, we held an event at Building 205 where US Congresswoman Louise Slaughter along with Kodak CEO Antonio Perez and VP Brad Kruchten, announced that the United States Congress had inserted new language into its Climate Control bill to provide exemptions for Kodak's power plant. Provided the bill is passed with the current language, Kodak and Eastman Business Park will save tens of millions of dollars in reduced taxes. This will also enable us to continue to be a low cost energy producer.
At the event, Louise recognized the Park, the reduction in energy, and the positive impact we are making on the community by bringing new companies and jobs into Monroe County. She commented that, "Nothing could be more forward-looking or better for the community than what you're doing here at Eastman Business Park."
