You’ve got a fabulous new website. That’s great. Now what?
You need to drive people to visit your website.
For small businesses, a website is an extension of their business. And for online stores, it’s the actual business.
Here are some tips for driving traffic to your website.
Email Marketing
Start sending your customers, potential customers, and vendors a newsletter. It’s a great way to stay in touch, inform them of upcoming events, promotions and sales, and share blogs they may have missed.
Link articles in your newsletter back to your website. They can start reading the article in the newsletter but must finish reading it on your website.
Have Strong SEO
SEO is search engine optimization. This is what will make your website appear high on the list of results returned by a search engine. Basically, it’s getting your business found on Google.
Talk to your webmaster about the keywords used in your site. Using the correct words will get you found.
Use Social Media
No matter who your target audience is, they are using at least one of the social media platforms out there. Research the platforms your customers use and focus on using those too.
Create content that will engage and educate your followers. Be consistent in your posting schedule. Include a link to your social media on your website and vice versa.
Blog
Having a blog on your website is good for your SEO by driving traffic to your website and by adding new content to your website.
Again, be consistent with your blogging. If you blog every week on Tuesdays, be sure you post on Tuesdays.
Write about relevant happenings in your industry. Share about new products. Introduce new employees. There’s so much you can blog about!
Guest Blog
By sharing one of your blog posts on the blog of another business in your industry, you get your business exposed to a whole new audience. Make sure to include a link to your website at the end of your blog so readers can learn more about you.
Share the love and invite that business to post a blog on your page too.
